Click to view full-size. 1938 Dollar Sign #6 Monopoly Game Parker Brothers was not very clear as to #6 Game designation. Collectors commonly refer to #6 Games as Blue Box Games. But, based on Parker Brothers game inserts, the #6 also covers "Black Bound" boards which I have designated as the Dollar Sign ($) #6 Edition. The $ is the most prominent feature on these Black Box/Board Games and gives a clearer distinction between the two #6 games. Also, in Parker Brothers inserts from 1938 onward, the #6 games were also referred to as Junior Editions. The 1946 Dollar Sign #6 game is the only game that actually had the #6 printed on the Board and Game Box. The 1938 Dollar Sign #6 Monopoly Game drops London and adds Chicago to the label. There are 3 different board configurations. The dark oxidation, which was very common with many of the early tokens due to impurities in the manufacturing process has been corrected with this version. This set in Sealed Condition is Extremely Rare. |
